Learning objectives

At the conclusion of the program, the learner will be able to: Implement routines screening to identify elders who are or have been victims of elder abuse. Validate the experience of victimization and of its physical, emotional, and mental effects to the patient. Document the patient's history of elder abuse, observed trauma, and referrals. Refer to resources within the health care setting and/or to community resources based on the patient's current or previous experiences of elder abuse or potential to be abused.
