Unhealthy lifestyle behaviors are the root causes of many of the chronic diseases and conditions faced by members of your own community. Physical therapists are uniquely qualified to routinely screen members of the public to promote healthy lifestyles, decrease risk of disease and disability, identify those needing to be seen for an episode of physical therapy, and triage to get your clients to appropriate providers beyond your scope. This webinar will review the standardized elements developed for this examination and how it can be applied to the multiple conditions that exist in your community, what to do with the information, and how to track individuals over their lifespan. Also discussed will be the advantages of adding this diversification to your clinical practice, whatever your current practice may be, provide pointers to get a program started, and measure its success to assist in participating in this changing health care environment.
