In today's complex healthcare landscape, effective interprofessional collaboration is essential for enhancing patient safety, quality of care, and health outcomes. This webinar brings together a panel of experts to explore evidence-based approaches and strategies for assessing interprofessional learning and collaboration across individual, team, and organizational levels. Participants will evaluate assessment methodologies that align with learning outcomes and institutional resources, while also examining how assessment data can be strategically utilized for program evaluation and quality improvement. Through interactive discussions, attendees will gain insights into bridging the education-to-practice gap by leveraging assessment processes to enhance interprofessional competencies. The webinar will address both formative and summative assessment methods, focusing on teamwork, communication, and collaborative competencies across diverse healthcare disciplines. Tina Gunaldo, DPT, PhD, MHS

Tina Gunaldo, DPT, PhD, MHS is a leader in interprofessional work, currently dedicated to advancing health equity and interprofessional collaborative practice in a healthcare system.

Her academic journey includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Service Leadership with a concentration in Health Care Administration from Capella University, a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Boston University, and a Master of Health Science in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Louisiana State University Health New Orleans.

She has published over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles and delivered more than 150 presentations across 60 national and international conferences. These achievements have been recognized through three prestigious awards for advancing interprofessional practice. Currently, she serves as Co-President of the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative and Founder of Collaborate for Health, an organization dedicated to integrating team science into interprofessional practice and education.

Dr. Gunaldo focuses on developing strategies to build high-performing interprofessional teams, with a core mission of improving healthcare quality through collaborative approaches. As an Associate Editor of the Journal of Interprofessional Education and Practice and Co-Editor of the textbook Interprofessional Education and Collaboration, she continues to shape the future of education and practice.

Loretta M. Nunez, M.A., Au.D., CCC-A/SLP,

Loretta M. Nunez, M.A., Au.D., CCC-A/SLP, is the Senior Director of Academic Affairs & Research Education at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). With over two decades of experience at ASHA, Dr. Nunez leads initiatives supporting academic, clinical, and research education in communication sciences and disorders. She spearheads ASHA's Envisioned Future 2025 strategic objective to advance interprofessional education and collaborative practice.

Dr. Nunez holds dual ASHA certification and state licensure as both a speech-language pathologist and audiologist. She earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from Central Michigan University and her Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in speech-language pathology and audiology from The Ohio State University. Dr. Nunez is an ASHA Fellow, a Distinguished Practitioner and Fellow of the National Academy of Practice in Speech-Language Pathology, and a member of the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative.

As a recognized expert in interprofessional education, Dr. Nunez represents ASHA on several key external committees, including the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC), >span class="NormalTextRun SCXW234641547 BCX2">, and the Interprofessional Professionalism Collaborative (IPC). Her work with the IPC led to the development of the Interprofessional Professionalism Assessment (IPA) and educational toolkit, which received the 2024 National Academies of Practice Interprofessional Group Recognition Award.

Joseph Zorek, PharmD, BCGP, FNAP

Joseph Zorek, PharmD, BCGP, FNAP is a distinguished leader in interprofessional education and collaborative healthcare. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Quality Enhancement Plan—Linking Interprofessional Networks for Collaboration (LINC)—at UT Health San Antonio, a role he has held since 2019.

Dr. Zorek's expertise spans multiple areas, including geriatric pharmacy, interprofessional education, and healthcare collaboration. Throughout his career, Dr. Zorek has made significant contributions to the field of interprofessional education. He co-authored the Health Professions Accreditors Collaborative national consensus guidance on developing quality interprofessional education (IPE) and is currently representing the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy on >span class="NormalTextRun SCXW220096885 BCX2">) core competencies for interprofessional collaborative practice.

Dr. Zorek's scholarly work includes co-leading the development and validation of the IPEC Institutional Assessment Instrument, a tool designed to measure institutional characteristics associated with high-quality programmatic IPE. In 2021, he published "Interprofessional Practice in Pharmacy: Featuring Illustrated Case Studies" with McGraw-Hill Education, a textbook highlighting the role of pharmacists in interprofessional teams and serves as co-editor-in-chief for the Journal of Interprofessional Education and Practice.
