Integrative Pain Management for Knee Osteoarthritis
Clinicians need to be knowledgeable about integrative pain management for either direct use in the clinic or for establishing a good rapport and therapeutic alliance with patients and clients. This interactive presentation will provide practical intervention strategies that may be used as an adjunct to standard practice or to establish safe and effective home programs for acute and chronic pain.
Meet our Presenter
Ziya “Z” Altug, PT, DPT, MS, OCS, CSCSis a board-certified orthopaedic clinical specialist with 30 years of experience in treating musculoskeletal conditions. He currently treats patients privately in Los Angeles, works as an adjunct assistant professor, and conducts integrative pain management workshops. He also is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Altug received a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Pittsburgh and his DPT from the College of St. Scholastica. He obtained a master’s degree in sport and exercise studies and a bachelor’s degree in physical education from West Virginia University. He is a longstanding member of APTA, the California Physical Therapy Association, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has attended numerous workshops including yoga, tai chi, qigong, Pilates, Feldenkrais Method, and the Alexander Technique.
