(LMS-AC-CDM) In this webinar, learners will follow a case study of a patient with a medically complex history from Emergency Department (ED) admission to hospital stay day #3. The learner will be guided through clinical decision-making questions throughout the presentation, simulating an instructor guiding a student through the evaluation and treatment. Learners are expected to have an entry-level understanding of the basic laboratory testing and with interpretation of vital signs measurements.

(LMS-AC-ABG) Utilizing the AACPT Lab Values Interpretation Resource, the speakers will present the clinical implications of blood gasses and how to make modifications to the plan of care.

(LMS-AC-ICU-21) This course will discuss principles of neurologic acute rehabilitation treatments for patients with complex, critical illnesses. An emphasis on the psychological, cognitive, and physical aspects of care will be reviewed.

(LMS-ACUTE-LabValues) Speakers will present available lab values resources and provide contemporary practice updates for pediatric and adult patient populations through the use of learning activities, including lecture and case study application. Attendees will learn the importance of lab values and gain understanding of their implications to promote safe and effective care.

(LMS-ACUTE-PTValue) Speakers will explore how physical therapists’ perceptions of value are informed by the patients they serve and the health systems in which they work, further discussing how both drive decisions about care prioritization.

(LMS-AC-PICS-21) This session will analyze what we know about post-intensive care syndrome (PICS), exploring physical therapy management of patients with PICS to promote function and reduce the risk of hospital readmission. The framework presented will then be translated to problems (e.g., weakness, pain, reduced functioning, and fatigue) from post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC) to inform strategies for examination and interventions.

(LMS-AC-STU-21) Presenters will discuss remediation practices for students who struggle on clinical experiences in the acute care setting. The process, format, resources, timing, and decision-making tools necessary for a successful program will be explored. A focus on the diagnosis of specific student skills that are not meeting expectations, use of resources in assisting in this diagnosis, timing and format of various remediation activities, and conceptual models used to assist in decision making along the way will be discussed.

(LMS-AC-RES-21) This course will explore the purpose and process for establishing an acute care residency, including: the benefits of residency education to the institution, acute care physical therapy clinical practice and to the resident.

(LMS-VVS) Presenters will share a clinical guide for vital sign considerations in acute and post-acute care physical therapy practice, as developed by APTA Acute Care and the APTA Academy of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Physical Therapy.

(LMS-AC-PSM-21) A multidisciplinary, multi-site panel will discuss current stroke literature highlighting permissive hypertension, the hazards of hypoperfusion, and early patient mobility. Speakers, including a comprehensive stroke coordinator, will present a well-rounded view of critical reasoning for best patient care and the importance of communication illustrated by case studies. Presenters will examine legal, ethical, and practical concerns regarding risk of mobility and poststroke blood pressure control.
