Knowledge translation (KT) is defined as adopting evidence-based knowledge and effectively integrating it into clinical practice. This important process can elevate the quality of physical therapy care delivered within your organization.
Passionate physical therapists and physical therapist assistants, clinical leaders, and practice owners will appreciate this engaging webinar, designed to facilitate consistent implementation of guideline recommendations in a single clinic or a large corporation. The lectures give insight about the overall KT process, while case studies offer practical tips and techniques to help achieve the desired results.
The course format uses many short modules for easy access, and learners can progress at their own pace. Additional resources and suggested readings are provided for those who desire further learning about KT and related topics.
Participants will be able to:
- Explain the hierarchy of evidence based on certainty and discuss implications for knowledge translation.
- Describe the components of the Knowledge to Action model and talk about why the use of a framework is important.
- Use standardized tools to assess facilitators and barriers to change.
- Identify different mechanisms that can be used and key players required to plan and implement a successful intervention.
- Monitor outcomes and recognize when to sustain use or initiate de-implementation.
- Apply knowledge learned immediately to specific situations across various practice settings and models.
