Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants practice in an environment that requires understanding and compliance with local, state, and federal laws and health care regulations. This course provides participants with a general framework for laws and guidelines pertaining to physical therapy practice in South Carolina with specific attention to fraud, waste, and abuse, defensible documentation, and supervision of the PTA.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will define fraud, waste and abuse.

2. Participants will describe the 5 laws related to fraud, waste, and abuse.

3. Participants will review PTA supervision under SC law.

4. Participants will review documentation requirements under SC law.

Course Instructions
