This course offers a comprehensive introduction to artificial intelligence (AI) with a focus on generative models and their practical applications in healthcare and research settings. Designed for professionals in any stage of their career, the course begins by establishing a foundational understanding of AI, including formal definitions and key milestones in its evolution. Participants will explore the core differences between discriminative and generative AI models and will be introduced to an overview of transformer architecture and to the CLEAR framework.

Dustin Hardwick

PT, DPT, PhD

University of the Incarnate Word School of Rehabilitation Sciences

Dustin Hardwick PT, DPT, PhD is an Associate Professor at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Rehabilitation Sciences. Dr. Hardwick received his DPT and PhD from Washington University in St Louis before completing his postdoctoral training at the Cleveland VAMC FES Center of Excellence.  Dr. Hardwick has 11 years of experience in entry-level education and primarily teaches courses related to kinesiology, biomechanics, motor control and motor learning and pathology. Dr. Hardwick has authored publications and presented research related to biomechanics, motor learning, and professionalism and ethics in PT.
