This workshop involves asynchronous module completion and three 3.5 hour synchronous virtual sessions and is designed to assist physical therapist education program administrators, program directors, faculty, and reviewers to obtain information about the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education’s (CAPTE’s) expectations for compliance with the 2024 Standards and Required Elements for Physical Therapist Education Programs, prepare a Self-study Report, and undergo a successful programmatic review. It includes an overview of the accreditation process and the specific expectations of the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) related to the Standards and Required Elements. Information is provided on:

1. Purposes and process of accreditation
2. How to develop a Self-Study Report that accurately reflects all program activities.
3. How to respond to the accreditation reports.

Learning Objectives: 

After completing this workshop, participants will be able to:

1. Describe the purposes of specialized programmatic accreditation.
2. Identify the individuals involved in the self-study process.
3. Identify pre-accreditation and accreditation activities.
4. Describe the self-study process.
5. Navigate the CAPTE portal.

Course Instructions

1. Click on the Contents tab to watch the course recording.
2. Click the Take Quiz button to complete the assessment. Learners will have 3 attempts to pass and must answer at least 70% of questions correctly.
3. Click Fill Out Survey under the Evaluation listing to provide valuable course feedback. Scroll down on all questions as there may be answer options that expand past the size of the window.
4. Click the View/Print Your Certificate button under the Certificate listing. You can view/print your certificate at any time by visiting the APTA Learning Center and clicking the CEU Certificate/Transcript link on the left-hand side of the page.

To complete group registration:

1. Log into the APTA Learning center
2. Locate the course. Select view
3. Click on register
4. Click on complete registration now
5. Click on Add a Registration for another User
6. Enter the email address associated with the user's APTA ID (Member or Nonmember ID)

To create an APTA Learning Center account:

1. Visit www.apta.org and click JOIN.

2. Once account is created, you will receive a notification to verify your email address.

3. To activate your APTA Learning Center account, please visit the APTA Learning Center, and login with your created APTA credentials.
