
ELECTIVE - Provision of Telehealth: Performing Arts

This elective introduces the participant to telehealth for the performing arts patient. The participant will be introduced to common factors contributing to injuries within this population. Case examples highlighting the integration and adaptation of key components of a typical telehealth session to the unique demands/environments required by performing artists will also be provided. Further discussion of the importance of qualitative measurements, video analysis, screening and wellness programming opportunities will give insight to providing successful care in the virtual world for this unique patient population.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand common factors contributing to injuries within the performing arts.
- Integrate components of a typical telehealth session and adapt to the unique demands/environments required by performing artists.
- Utilize qualitative examination skills for physical therapy evaluation and injury risk screening of performing artists.
- Recreate proper set up of video in order to capture a robust representation of the performing artists’ movement and postural demands.
