One cannot bake a cake with only flour. Clinicians who treat chronic pain understand that it requires teamwork and multimodal treatment plans. How can we get patients on board with this approach if patients are reliant on only one tool or treatment? How can we support each other when we work in isolated practice settings? We can support each other and bolster our patients’ confidence in their prognosis by confidently communicating all elements of a care plan to them. This course is taught by a Certified Pain Educator (CPE) and is intended for all clinicians who struggle to engage patients in active self-management strategies. Learners can learn the “elevator pitch” to help motivate patients toward other members of a pain care team and provide an overview of a comprehensive team approach, even if you work in an isolated clinical setting.
