Through this course the reader will be able to understand activities and experiences of women with fear of falling during cancer survivorship.
Learning Objectives:
- The learner will be able to recognize behaviors indicating fear of falling and identify what negative outcomes are a result of fear of falling.
- The learner will be able to identify how daily experiences of women who have completed cancer treatment relate to their fear of falling.
- The learner will be able to report which outcome measures had a significant associate with increased fear of falling.
- The learner will develop an understanding of the daily activities and experience of women who have fear of falling following the completion of cancer treatment.
Kelley R. Covington
M.S., ACSM-CET, CEP
Kelley is Research & Education Manager, ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation, Select Medical. Kelley obtained her B.S. in Health and Exercise Science from Appalachian State University in 2015, M.S. in Health and Exercise Science from Colorado State University (CSU) in 2017, and will complete her Ph.D. in 2021 from the Occupational Therapy Department at CSU. As a certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Cancer Exercise Trainer, Kelley has worked to support individuals with cancer and other chronic health conditions in various community-based and academic clinical settings. In 2017, she co-founded the Fitness Therapy (Fit) for Cancer Program at CSU. The focus of Kelley’s research is implementation, accessibility and effectiveness of cancer rehabilitation and community-based exercise programs. She is currently leading the development and dissemination of the Exercise in Cancer Evaluation and Decision Support (EXCEEDS) algorithm.
