Course Objectives:

1. Apply pharmacologic principles to physical therapy patient management.
2. Understand the influence of drug administration, absorption, distribution, storage, and metabolism on drug effects.
3. Compare and contrast general categories of drugs used therapeutically.
4. Evaluate the potential for harmful interactions between specific drugs and physical therapy interventions.
5. Choose physical therapy interventions in accordance with the patient's drug regimen.
6. Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and the lay community regarding pharmaceutical considerations in patient care.
