PRIVATE PRACTICE - AC24 - How to Utilize PTAs to Maximize Your Profit
Since reimbursement for services provided by PTAs has changed, private practice owners feel they are seeing profits decrease. Yes, we all used to be able to bill the services provided by our PTAs under our PT license and get reimbursed at a higher rate. So, many private practice owners have terminated their PTAs or put hiring freezes in place so they can maximize their reimbursement by only having services performed by PTs. However, this session will show how this is a mistake! This session will show the benefits of bringing on and keeping PTAs on staff and dig deep into the financial implications and benefits. We will review billing scenarios and demonstrate how having PTAs on staff not only does NOT result in decreased profits but actually improves your profit margin and can make your business more profitable than a practice with only PTs.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
1. Understand the fears and reservations of having PTAs on staff in private practice settings.
2. Describe the financial benefits, not risks, of keeping PTAs on staff.
3. Properly code PTA services to maximize profit.
4. Demonstrate the continued benefit of having PTAs on staff.
