Level: Multiple Levels depending on practice (startup to expanding)

This webinar is complementary to the “The How-To Manual” of the APTA Private Practice. This webinar focuses on Chapter 2: Building Your Business Plan – What it Takes to Get Started. Save & Bundle by purchasing all 13 chapters of the How-To Series here!

Before you open your practice, you will need a business plan that can guide your journey from startup through the early years of the practice. This session focuses on the disciplined process of writing up a business plan and the strategic and financial decisions you will make by completing the plan. Writing a business plan helps you weigh the risks and benefits of ownership, assess the healthcare market, identify your strengths and weaknesses, define the focus of your practice, and make financial projections. The content of this session is also applicable to a business plan to expand or add a service line to your practice.

This session questions will be addressed include:
● Deciding to start your own practice.
● Do I need a lawyer to get started?
● Why write a business plan?
● What should I put in the business plan
● Do I need an accountant to write the plan and/or manage my finances?
● How do I develop policies and procedures?

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to

-begin writing a business plan

-describe why and how to use a business plan when starting or expanding their business

-understand how to use the business plan to guide the growth and management of their practice
