PRIVATE PRACTICE PEER2PEER NETWORKS – Difficult Conversation Home Exercise Program

During this session, participants will explore why it is critical to lean into difficult conversations as a leader and will leave with practical approaches for navigating difficult conversations while maintaining solid relationships. Throughout the session, participants will interact with and learn from eachother, and practice and reflect on the tools presented in real-time. Desired outcomes by the end of the session include renewed or increased confidence in approaching difficult conversations with others, and an appreciation for the collective experience, wisdom and mentorship within the room.

After attending this session, participants will be able to:

1. Identify common characteristics of difficult conversations and common conditions of successful management of difficult conversations.
2. Describe four tools to support navigation of difficult conversations.
3. Appreciation for each other as peer coaches, learning from past experiences with difficult conversations and applying some of that learning to current circumstances.
4. Ability to share at least one tip with a trusted teammate who you want to mentor in navigating difficult conversations.

Lori joined the Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy team in 2006 after starting her career in non-profit arts administration and as a professional performer. She is currently Therapeutic Associates’ Chief People Officer, collaborating with teammates in HR, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, and People Analytics to ensure that the experience of the people of the organization thrives alongside the financial, operational and customer experience aspects of overall organizational health. In addition to tracking more "traditional" data points to measure this experience over time, Lori and her team led Therapeutic Associates through a year-long, research-supported journey to formally measure "joy in work" starting in 2023. In 2012, Lori completed her Masters in Public Administration from the University of Washington. In her free time, she enjoys reading and cooking, hanging out with her husband, family and friends, patronizing the arts, and cheering for her beloved Green Bay Packers.
