This webinar focuses on understanding the process of becoming compliant with CAPTE required element 1C2. The webinar will cover the following specifics of the CAPTE required element: 1. The wording and timing of the required element and how it relates to program compliance. 2. The timeline of determining compliance/noncompliance by CAPTE. 3. How to breakdown the NPTE reports to assist in analysis of the problem. 4. How to assess the graduates for readiness to take the NPTE exam. 5. How to write up a compliance report for the CAPTE commissioners including the information and analysis expectations for the compliance report.

Learning Objectives:

The participant will understand:

  1. The 1C2 required element wording as it pertains to their programs NPTE pass rates.
  2. The timing of CAPTE decisions of noncompliance based on the CAPTE meeting calendar and the AAR.
  3. How to complete a curricular and graduate analysis to determine the causes of low NPTE pass rates.
  4. The importance of the scholarship of teaching and learning concepts in the analysis of graduate readiness.
  5. How to write a complete compliance report for the CAPTE commissioners.

Sharan ZIrges

PT, DPT, MHSA

Sharan is the Manager of PTA programs for the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). Sharan was an assistant professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Georgia Southern University – Armstrong Campus in Savannah, Georgia prior to coming to CAPTE and a Program Director of the South University – Virginia Beach PTA program prior to going to Georgia Southern University – Armstrong campus.
